ScinceDirect reports –
“Acupuncture may effectively ameliorate selected DPN (Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy) symptoms in these American Indian patients.”
Trigeminal Neuralgia is unilateral short lived severe electric shock like stab, repeated frequently. Latter the pain comes less frequently but lasts longer. The pain is precipitated by minor incidences like shaving, moving head. Sensory function at site of pain is normal. Acupuncture has important adjuvant role to play in management of Trigeminal Neuralgia. Even though treatment of trigeminal neuralgia is not satisfactory with drugs, Dr Pardeshi Acupuncture Pain Therapy at Nashik can provide substantial relief by acupuncture. Treatment of infection of tooth has its own protocol, pain of tooth can be temporarily reduced by acupuncture.

“Thus, acupuncture, which has virtually no adverse effects, may be an alternative method of treatment for such resistant patients. We wish to alert physicians to the benefits of acupuncture for patients with resistant Trigeminal Neuralgia who do not respond to other traditional treatment methods.”
It occurs after Herpes attack and is along nerve route. It may be mild to very severe and last up to year or so.Until we understand more about the pathophysiology of post-herpetic neuralgia, aggressive acupuncture therapy at an early stage is indicated. Acupuncture treatment combined with Moxibustion is supposed to be more effective than the drug gabapentin for the treatment of shingles, herpes zoster neuralgia.
Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) Infection
What is shingles?
Shingles is a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Shingles usually appears in a band, a strip, or a small area on one side of the face or body. It is also called herpes zoster.
Shingles is most common in older adults and people who have weak immune systems because of stress, injury, certain medicines, or other reasons. Most people who get shingles will get better and will not get it again. But it is possible to get shingles more than once.
What causes shingles?
Shingles occurs when the virus that causes chickenpox starts up again in your body. After you get better from chickenpox, the virus “sleeps” (is dormant) in your nerve roots. In some people, it stays dormant forever. In others, the virus “wakes up” when disease, stress, or aging weakens the immune system. Some medicines may trigger the virus to wake up and cause a shingles rash. It is not clear why this happens. But after the virus becomes active again, it can only cause shingles, not chickenpox.
You can’t catch shingles from someone else who has shingles. But there is a small chance that a person with a shingles rash can spread the virus to another person who hasn’t had chickenpox and who hasn’t gotten the chickenpox vaccine.
“Conclusion Although we have had reasonable results in the treatment of recurrent HSV infection using methods suggested by traditional Chinese medicine, our results have been significantly better with our new regime which involves: body acupuncture to immunomodulating points, laser irradiation of the herpetic lesions, aloe vera application and dietary restrictions. It should be noted that the clinical response is confirmed by our measurement of immunological parameters. We therefore recommend this new treatment regime for recurrent HSV infection and will be continuing to use and investigate it in our hospital. “
Fibromyalgia includes widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues. Fibromyalgia amplifies painful sensations by affecting the way your brain processes pain signals. The disease may begin after a physical trauma, surgery, infection or significant psychological stress or symptoms gradually accumulate over time with no single triggering event. Fibromyalgia may also have tension headaches, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety and depression.
Even though there is no cure for fibromyalgia, a some of medications can help control symptoms to some extent. Exercise, meditation, relaxation and stress-reduction measures help. Dr Pardeshi Acupuncture Pain Therapy Nashik may help you to relieve some of symptoms of Fibromyalgia with treatment
“I think the bottom line is that fibromyalgia symptoms probably do respond to acupuncture, although I wouldn’t expect that acupuncture works for everyone, nor is acupuncture a cure for the syndrome,” says Martin.“What is perhaps most important is that there are relatively few to no side effects to acupuncture performed with modern disposable needles, in stark contrast to some medications which do have serious side effects.”
